    HIMOINSA receives the 'Sustainability Award'

This award was presented at the 16th edition of the Potencia Awards.

HIMOINSA has received the 'Sustainability Award' at the 16th edition of the Potencia Awards, a prize that honours public works and civil engineering machinery companies and in this case highlights the company's commitment to the ongoing development of new environmentally sustainable equipment as part of its roadmap towards reducing emissions.

In this regard, the stage V gas generator sets and the EHR | Battery Power Generator have received a special mention in the 'Sustainability' category as a range of power generation solutions designed to reduce the carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable industry.

“It is a privilege for the entire HIMOINSA team to receive this double distinction. On the one hand, with the Battery Power Generator which is the company's first electrified equipment, marking our commitment to zero emissions as part of an ongoing energy transition process. And on the other hand, receiving a double distinction for our LPG generators,” says Cristina Avilés, Global Marketing and Communication Head, who adds that "HIMOINSA has been working for more than a decade on gas power generation solutions. Today, the company is able to offer an innovative and competitive product for the construction and rental sector in terms of design, reliability, safety, reduced emissions and operating costs".

These awards, organised by the TPI Group, are consolidated as a benchmark in the public works, construction and mining machinery sector and have featured an exceptional jury with extensive experience in the industry.

    Stage V certified gas gensets

In a time when the construction and rental market tends to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible, HIMOINSA's gas generator sets are the perfect solution to guarantee a reduction in emissions and low noise levels, as well as easing the after-treatment systems developed with the recent Stage V diesel generator sets, which incorporate urea tanks and other components to ensure the reduction of pollutants required by the European emissions regulations.

Generators from 30 to 110kVA that offer three different power supply options: integrated tanks or external LPG or NG supply. From the fuel selector, the user can choose the power supply with which to operate the equipment. In all cases, safety locks have been installed on the fuel inlet to prevent handling by unauthorised personnel. Should greater running time be required, the models in this series feature an external fuel supply socket that can be connected to an external propane tank.

It is the first gas solution in the power generation market to have a built-in LPG tank (design in patent pending), offering also the possibility to connect an external LPG tank to extend its autonomy in case it is required. "HIMOINSA is in contact with Repsol, distributor of LPG in Spain and Portugal, and Flogas in the UK, in order to offer to construction and rental companies a comprehensive solution for gas power generation, without problems of access to the supply of LPG in their equipment", explains Manuel Aguilera, Global Gas Unit Head, who adds that HIMOINSA´s "gas generators incorporate a simple three-way catalyst to reduce emissions of CO, CO2, NOx and other pollutants, and a residential silencer that allows an attenuation of -35 dB. They are therefore becoming an extremely interesting option for the European market"

    EHR – Battery Power Generator.

In its process of electrification of equipment, HIMOINSA has introduced to the market the EHR | Battery Power Generator, a new energy storage and distribution system, which can operate as a main power source (island) for powering construction machinery (cranes, pumps...) or even as a recharging station for electric construction machinery, as well as it can be combined with a diesel or gas generator, reducing the number of running hours of the generators.

“The EHR is also designed to be connected to the grid or to photovoltaic modules”, explains Miguel Ángel Ruiz, Global Engineering and Product Development Head at HIMOINSA, adding that “it is a compact, quiet and clean product, which has been equipped with HICORE System, a management technology designed by HIMOINSA which allows a more efficient use of energy".
