HIMOINSA has been recognised as 'Company of the Year' in the Region of Murcia’s industrial framework

The company, which designs and manufactures power technology solutions, has been awarded Company of the Year at the first edition of the Isaac Peral Foundation’s regional industry awards.

The award was accepted by Himoinsa’s President and CEO, Francisco Gracia, from Alfonso Corbalán, President of the Isaac Peral Foundation, and Noelia Arroyo, Mayoress of Cartagena, at an event held at the CIM of the UPCT.

    'COMPANY OF THE YEAR'

HIMOINSA, the multinational company belonging to the Yanmar group and based in the municipality of San Javier, has won ‘Company of the Year’ in the first edition of the awards given by the Isaac Peral Foundation, whose objectives are tied to the promotion and industrial development of the Region of

Murcia. The company embarked on its internationalisation process in the early ‘90s and is currently active in more than 130 countries, through its 8 production centres, 12 commercial subsidiaries and an extensive network of distributors on the five continents.

HIMOINSA is committed to innovation and is continuously working on developing new products. It has an investment in RD&I of about 3 million euros in production centres in the Region of Murcia throughout 2022, which translates into 20% more investment as compared to the previous year. Its commitment to the research and development of new power technology solutions is the cornerstone of its growth strategy, together with the development of its industrial project, which involves expanding its factories and creating new operating centres

In his speech, the President of the Isaac Peral Foundation, Alfonso Corbalán, highlighted the great business value of the Region of Murcia: "The entrepreneurial character and capacity of the Region of Murcia is very strong and we have truly innovative companies, and that is what we at the Foundation want to highlight, the support for SMEs through the collaboration with large companies in the regional industry". Corbalán also stressed that "the Isaac Peral Foundation encourages the development of public-private collaboration projects to promote the "Region of Murcia Industrial brand"

Receiving recognition such as that awarded by the Isaac Peral Foundation “makes us particularly excited, as it highlights the role we have played since our beginnings, contributing to the modernisation and growth of the industrial sector in the region. Our autonomous region’s industrial and technological ecosystem has many reasons to be seen as a leader at a national and European level. I would like to express the commitment and efforts of all those industrial companies based in Murcia, because together we are establishing a dynamic, quality sector.

Francisco Gracia, President & CEO of HIMOINSA

It is worth remembering that the company has been increasing its international presence, creating more and more jobs and exporting the Murcia and Spain brand all over the world, reaching a turnover of more than 350 million euros last year. Besides the favourable figures in its 2022 results, HIMOINSA expects to grow by around 15% this year, partly thanks to the expansion of its production centres industrial capacity in the Region of Murcia and the opening a new factory this year for the production of battery power accumulation and distribution systems.

Regarding employment, HIMOINSA’s commitment to generating quality jobs is a fact that has not gone unnoticed by the committee responsible for assessing the various applications. In this respect, the company ended 2022 with 18% more people employed than in the previous year. The company is currently seeking an increasing number of STEAM profiles (with science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics degrees and postgraduate studies), among others, to perform roles in RD&I projects, which will grow considerably in 2023.
