HIMOINSA collaborates in projects and drives initiatives that promote the inclusion of women in the workplace

This 8th of March, the company is celebrating International Women's Day with more women in its work teams than ever before and a female presence of approximately 20% in its facilities. These figures are growing steadily in what is a heavily male-dominated industrial sector

The company has taken part in the #EmpleoParaTodas initiative organised by the Adecco Foundation, with which it collaborates on a regular basis as it does with other organisations that facilitate the inclusion of vulnerable women in society and in the workplace. HIMOINSA is celebrating International Women's Day with new data that show that the number of women working at its facilities is on the increase.

As far as the company's job creation measures are concerned, it has specifically focused on reinforcing and increasing the presence of women.
As a result, at year-end 2022, the percentage of women working at HIMOINSA in the Region of Murcia stood at almost 20%, both in the company's offices and in its production centres.

“Taking measures to encourage the inclusion of women in a sector such as ours, with a predominantly male presence, is of paramount importance for our company. That is why we have been introducing and implementing new recruitment measures that promote equality”.

Alejandra Sánchez, Human Resources Manager at HIMOINSA

The company has also collaborated in the Adecco Foundation's #EmpleoParaTodas campaign, thereby helping to raise awareness of the situation that thousands of vulnerable women find themselves in when it comes to job opportunities. According to statistics provided by Adecco, the female unemployment rate is three points higher than that of men - 14.6% compared to 11.3% respectively. Moreover, 80% of all single-parent families in Spain have a woman as head of the household and more than 50% of such families face the highest risk of poverty and/or social exclusion. Through this initiative, HIMOINSA is therefore helping to part-finance training and qualification courses for women so that they can successfully pass job selection processes and thus promote the presence of women in the workplace.

The company has an Equality Plan in place which includes among its objectives the elimination of any form of gender-based discrimination or inequality that may exist in the company, proactively establishing lines of work that promote the principle of equality between women and men in the corporate environment.
