Project Summary
Location: Sydney, Australia
Installed Equipment: 3 x HTW-2030 T5 40’ containerised units
Sector: Commercial
Special Configuration: SPL requirements – maximum 75dB(A) @ 1m at the standby rating
Woolworths Group, the largest supermarket chain in Australia, runs more than 1,000 stores, controls 38% of the grocery market share and serves millions of customers across the nation.
To facilitate its retail stores, Woolworths operates a network of distribution centres to handle large volumes of stocks. These distribution centres act as hubs for efficient goods receiving, storing and distribution, ensuring a smooth supply chain.
Three units of HIMOINSA HTW-2030 T5 40’ containerised gensets are installed in Woolworths’ fresh food distribution centre in Sydney. As part of the group’s $400 million investment to modernise its NSW supply chain network, the multi-story facility spans 76,000 sqm, distributes over 3,700 fresh produce and chilled lines, serves over 280 stores in New South Wales (NSW), significantly improved Woolworths’ operational efficiency.

Consistent power supply is crucial for the distribution center’s daily operation, particularly for critical functions like refrigeration, automation and security. Fresh produce, meat, dairy and frozen foods require strict temperature control. Facilities such as lighting, conveyor belts, automated sorting systems and computerized inventory management rely on continuous electricity to function efficiently and safely.
Any power outage can cause spoiled inventory, halted delivery and labour inefficiencies, causing significant delays in receiving, sorting, and shipping goods. Sudden power loss or surges can also damage expensive machinery and electronic equipment, causing significant financial losses.
HIMOINSA gensets provide reliable backup power supply for continuous operations during power outages, offering smooth power transition to prevent damage and keeping critical systems running 24/7, ensuring food freshness and quality, minimizing downtime, improving operational resilience and sustainability.
DOUBLE ASSURANCE
Governors are applied in the gensets for Woolworths to regulate fuel supply, providing reliable and precise control of engine speed despite of changes in load, offering exceptional reliability.

Sydney experiences a humid subtropical climate, hence, alternators used in standby applications can experience condensation when exposed to high humidity or temperature fluctuations.
The anti-condensation heaters are activated when the generator is not in operation, maintaining internal temperature above the dew point, preventing moisture from condensing on the windings and other components.
The gensets are customized to comply with Woolworth’s noise emission requirements – maximum 75dB(A) @ 1m at the standby rating. HIMOINSA uses new ISO approved containers for its soundproofed solutions. These containers adopt a compact design and are customised to each generator, using high-density volcanic rock wool for exceptional soundproofing and thermal insulation.
Our customer trusted us for established expertise, quality gensets and reliable aftermarket services.
