HIMOINSA generator sets in the monumental Sagrada Familia in Barcelona

The units supply energy for the construction of the Basilica. Other stand-by HIMOINSA generator sets supply emergency power to the temple and the shops in Gaudi’s iconic project.

HIMOINSA supplies power for the culmination of the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The works continue the revolutionary project that Antonio Gaudi designed in 1883 and are scheduled for completion in 2026. Five generations have now witnessed the evolution of the Temple that the universal Catalan architect conceived.

Currently, they are using HDW 670 T5 and HFW 100 T5 models, provided by the rental company Martí Canudas. These are soundproofed generator sets for both the execution of the works in the Catalan capital and for emergency supply purposes in the quarry located in the town of Galera, where they extract the stone for the construction of the temple.

This prevents cuts in the power supply during the religious services at the Basilica

HIMOINSA has been providing emergency energy to the temple since 2014, with a HMW 515 T5 model with an engine that meets Stage 3A emission standards. In the event of a failure in the main grid, the set is able to provide up to 559 kVA of power.

This prevents cuts in the power supply during the religious services at the Basilica and ensures that the rest of the shops and the concert halls inside the temple can continue to function as normal.
